Jeremy and Sara Jane invited me to their home in Kitchener for photos on a beautiful fall morning that felt a lot more like summer than it did fall. Their daughter Annalina was just over a week old at the time. Her older brother Adam is 2 and full of love for his little sis. We took photos in and around the home, doing lots of normal things, trying to get the story of a normal day with family into photos. I love how they came out :)
Terri and Steve got married in Guelph and then headed to Steckle Heritage Farm in Kitchener for wedding photos and the reception. We had time to walk the property slowly and enjoy a beautiful summer day. I am so so pleased with how these came out - you can feel the spark between these two :)
and then the antlers came out... i love this (especially the 'deer in the headlights') :)
Last summer I had the privilege of photographing Geoff & Thea's wedding at Burning Kiln Winery. This year I was very thrilled to get the call to come photograph the newest member of the family - baby Jonah. These are a few highlights from our time together on a warm summer morning :)
We met to take a walk just before sunset - Hayley + Dan and their dog Reggie - it was warm and perfect and the evening was quiet. These are highlights from a very fun engagement session in the Arboretum :)
The wedding is next summer at Steckle Heritage Farm... watch for more photos from H&D in 2018!
I stopped by Jess & Terry's place in Kitchener to meet them for photos with their son Avery, who is about to celebrate his first birthday. I photographed J&T's wedding a few years back at Steckle Farm (it was the first wedding I shot there!). It was really neat to visit them again... As you can see, red plaid + blue plaid = red and blue plaid.
We started off with a few photos of the family and then proceed to watch Avery smash a cake. It was awesome.
Dori & Justin had a cozy winter wedding at Langdon Hall in Cambridge. The grounds were gorgeous - covered in a perfect blanket of white snow. We started with a first look and then a walk around the grounds. Afterwards family and friends joined for an intimate wedding and supper. Here's some of the day...
A few weeks back I went for a winter walk with Steph & Higy - they're expecting their first child to arrive any time now! The upcoming arrival they lovingly refer to as 'the Higlet'. So we all went for a walk... It was a great winter day, snowy but not too cold. They started throwing snow right away...
Every winter, just before Christmas, Katie and Sean escape for a little getaway to Langdon Hall...
This year was a special one. Sean & Katie are expecting the arrival of their first child in the summer and they asked me to join them for photos to commemorate the happy times they've enjoyed at the hotel. They also wanted to nab a sweet photo to announce the upcoming arrival. We went for a walk around the grounds and then toasted some marshmellows by the fire...
Neill & Jessie got married in downtown Kitchener, at The Walper Hotel. The Walper has just finished renovations and the new space is seriously slick. Fresh Look Design handled the decor and details and absolutely knocked it out of the park.
It was a breath of fresh air spending the day with these two. You can tell when they look at each other how special their relationship is to each of them. We took photos at the hotel and in the streets downtown. Here's some of the day...
the first look, in the Oak Room at the Walper...
This is Terri + Steve. They're getting married next summer at Steckle Heritage Farm. We went for a walk in the forest a few weeks back when the trees still had leaves. Really excited for the wedding next summer :)
Rene and Marty's wedding at Steckle Heritage Farm was pretty neat. Marty is a firefighter and he was able to get a vintage firetruck to bring out to the farm on wedding day. After the ceremony had finished, the newlyweds walked away with sirens going on the old firetruck. It was different but it was really something... I got shivers.
Nicole and Dustin are getting married next summer at Steckle Heritage Farm (a very good place!). When it came time for some engagement photos they knew they wanted their kids along, so we went for an autumn walk just before sunset. I love how the pics turned out.
Thea & Geoff's wedding at Burning Kiln Winery was one I'll remember for a long time. There was a speech at the reception, by Thea's stepdad, that had nearly every eye in the building blinking tears. This was a truly unique and emotional moment. The silence was stunning.
The wedding ceremony was on the lawn in front of the vines on a hot summer day. Photos were taken around the grounds at Burning Kiln. The reception was held right in the heart of the winery, where the magic happens.
This was a special day. It was a privilege to be part of it.
On a warm day in early fall I stopped by the Hill family's home in Waterloo. I've had the chance to photograph the family each of the last few years and it's been really neat to see the kids grow and change. Josh & Andrea are wonderful people and you can see it when you spend time with them and with their kids, Amelia and Jack. The photos were taken in the yard at their home. We played in and around the garden and then had popsicles :)
Josh and Lisa got married in Cambridge, at a very cool venue along the river, just outside town. The Slit Barn is a restored stone barn that sits in a nature reserve called RARE. It's a beautiful spot. Fresh Look Design handled the decor and absolutely knocked it out of the park.
Wedding day was a perfect summer day. Lisa and Josh were beaming. I was really happy to be there for photos :)
Here's how it went...
It was a day that was all their own...
Grace and Michael got married in Stratford. Their wedding ceremony was at the beautiful Knox Presbyterian Church in downtown Stratford. Wedding party photos happened around the church and near the river that runs through town. Grace and the ladies got ready at the nearby Albert Street Inn.
Grace is a math major who really digs numbers. She's known among her friends for sporting a calculator watch. You can see it made an appearance in their engagement photos. Michael got her a newer, fancier watch for the wedding :)

The reception was at Revival House, a church turned restaurant in downtown Stratford. The food and service at this place was spot on.
On one of the hottest days this summer, I went for a walk with Alex and Beth and their daughter Eleanor. We went out early enough in the morning that the heat hadn't yet really descended, but as we walked you could feel the sun burning off the last remaining cool of the morning. We played a rousing game of 'what time is it, mr wolf?' and then did some exploring in the forest.
The West Montrose Covered Bridge has been around for over 100 years. It's the only bridge of it's kind still in use in the province. Over the years it's developed a reputation - they call it 'the kissing bridge'. Marty and Rene are from the area and figured it'd be great for their engagement photos. I met them there on a perfect summer evening. They showed up in a firetruck, borrowed for the evening from Marty's firehall.
Rene and Marty are getting married in September at Steckle Heritage Farm. They've arranged to bring an antique firetruck to the farm for photos. Very much looking forward to pairing the antique truck and the old buildings in the photos :)
Dave & Jenn have two beautiful daughters, Maddison and baby Berkeley. I was happy to join them for photos.
Maddie was a tad shy to start, but was soon absorbed in a favourite story...
We went for a walk along some trails near Jenn & Dave's home...
