 Katie + Bronson have a great old home in Downtown Kitchener. The last time I saw them was when their first son was born. We took photos at their old apartment and the photos (I'm told) have been a special part of remembering the place where they lived when they first became parents. Recently Katie gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl. They knew they wanted to do photos again, so on a warm sunny summer morning, I hung out on the porch with the family and did my best to get them into some photos. Hoping that these photos, like the ones from a few years back, become a good part of their family story:)              Steph and Higy love food, beer and downtown Kitchener. They've been frequenting B@Museum since it before it was B. It's one of their favourite spots and not much has changed since Elliott came along. He's just past 8 months old now and he too loves going out downtown for beers. Here are some of my favourites from a very fun session (how can it not be when there's craft pints involved!)                Jeremy and Sara Jane invited me to their home in Kitchener for photos on a beautiful fall morning that felt a lot more like summer than it did fall. Their daughter Annalina was just over a week old at the time. Her older brother Adam is 2 and full of love for his little sis. We took photos in and around the home, doing lots of normal things, trying to get the story of a normal day with family into photos. I love how they came out :)                          Last summer I had the privilege of photographing Geoff & Thea's wedding at Burning Kiln Winery. This year I was very thrilled to get the call to come photograph the newest member of the family - baby Jonah. These are a few highlights from our time together on a warm summer morning :)         Dave & Jenn have two beautiful daughters, Maddison and baby Berkeley. I was happy to join them for photos.   Maddie was a tad shy to start, but was soon absorbed in a favourite story...     We went for a walk along some trails near Jenn & Dave's home...       It's been nearly four years that I've been taking photos for the Watson Family. The very first time we did photos, Zoe was a newborn and Brad & Kristen had yet to move into their home in Central Frederick neighbourhood - a home and an area that have become near and dear over the years. It's been a stunning pleasure to see the family grow and grow up - Zoe, Hux and Eve are all adorable and amazing in their own way. Eline & Mike + Owen and Charlie I went for a walk in Victoria Park with Mike & Eline and their two boys. We spent most of our time around the island, on a day that was wonderfully sunny and just a bit cool. A few weeks back I met up with Sarah & Byron and their two sons, Dylan and Blake, for some photos at their home in Etobicoke. The session was a gift from Sarah's sister and brother-in-law, Ali and Ty. I had done Ali & Ty's wedding photos two summers past (and had met Byron and Sarah and Dylan that day. Blake, the youngest, wasn't yet on the scene). These are some highlights from the session. This first one is one of my favourite photos this year. I love how the trees frame the tire and how the tire frames Dylan. I love the sunburst. And I generally just really like the feel of the photo... the summer, the joy, that sort of thing :)    This is Blake, Dylan's younger brother. He's a champ.           see the family gallery?
Photos at Steckle Heritage Farm in Kitchener Steckle Heritage Farm is a special place - I can't say enough good about the place. They're an amazing education center, veggie grower and wedding/event venue. Ash worked there a few years back and arranged for us to stop by for some photos. Here's a few favourites :)    Sebastian thoroughly enjoyed being outside at the farm...   Seb's little bro, Grant...   In the orchard at Steckle, a wonderful place to be in September :)    Throughout the course of our walk around the farm, I would come to discover that Seb really, really, really likes apples. These photos were a surprise for Father's Day...Ben and Becky didn't have up-to-date photos of their two kids, so Becky invited me out to their home in Ayr for photos one morning while Ben was at work. The idea was to give him some new photos of the kids for home and office... This is Norah, right about a year old now  And Liam, just turned 4  We started off with bubbles...   then bikes...  and then strawberries... ah yah    everyone got their fair share...  and then we finished off with a homemade chocolate chip cookie (or two)  want to see more family photos?Photos with Baby Davis + The Weatherby Family This was my second visit to the Weatherby home and like my last visit, their home was warm and happy. This one came just over a week after baby Davis arrived. The day would turn hot and humid, but midmorning it was perfect... perfect enough for shortsleeves, sandboxes and babies in not many clothes at all.  The Brennermans have these awesome evergreens in the backyard that backdropped the photos so nicely... the sun was shining through in a way that felt like it could have been a weekend at the cottage     there was an ant on the sand castle...   Megan is a music teacher... couldn't help but get a piano photo in there   then, right at the very end of the session... we got some baby smiles :)  want to see more family photos?Photos at Home with the Lefler FamilyI was happy to spend an afternoon at home with the Lefler Family last week. Theirs is a warm and welcoming space... I did my best to get it into the photos. The idea was to send them to relatives who live in Western Canada as a surprise... I loved the idea and told Katie and Mike that I'd keep everything under wraps until the appropriate time, so as not to spoil the surprise! So if you haven't seen me posting any of these yet that's why! The Misener kids were both completely adorable in their own way - Owen with his tractors and laugh and Mer doing some of her first walking ever, punctuated with all kinds of perfect stares and giggles. A Fall Family Session with the Watson FamilyI'm getting to know the Watsons quite well - I've had the privilege of photographing their family several times now. Seeing the kids grow and change has been an amazing experience. Our styles gel well. I like to photograph people doing what they like to do... and the Watsons are great at doing their own thing. (Having kids in piles of leaves is always a nice help!) So without further ado, here are some highlights from Watson Fall Photo Day, 2014        Brad and Kristen celebrated 10 years married this summer...  the moment you realize why your coffee tastes like apple cider...   and then there's this one... one of my favourite shots this year I think.
