Katie + Bronson have a great old home in Downtown Kitchener. The last time I saw them was when their first son was born. We took photos at their old apartment and the photos (I'm told) have been a special part of remembering the place where they lived when they first became parents.
Recently Katie gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl. They knew they wanted to do photos again, so on a warm sunny summer morning, I hung out on the porch with the family and did my best to get them into some photos. Hoping that these photos, like the ones from a few years back, become a good part of their family story:) A few weeks ago I spent some time with Robin + Jaron and their family. This shoot was a special one... I`ve photographed R+J four times now - their engagement and wedding and their family after the arrival of each of their two beautiful kids. I met them at their home in Kitchener and spent some time in the back yard... playing without any shoes on, enjoying the summer air, getting a little bit of life with wee ones into pictures:)
Steph and Higy love food, beer and downtown Kitchener. They've been frequenting B@Museum since it before it was B. It's one of their favourite spots and not much has changed since Elliott came along. He's just past 8 months old now and he too loves going out downtown for beers. Here are some of my favourites from a very fun session (how can it not be when there's craft pints involved!)
Jeremy and Sara Jane invited me to their home in Kitchener for photos on a beautiful fall morning that felt a lot more like summer than it did fall. Their daughter Annalina was just over a week old at the time. Her older brother Adam is 2 and full of love for his little sis. We took photos in and around the home, doing lots of normal things, trying to get the story of a normal day with family into photos. I love how they came out :)
Last summer I had the privilege of photographing Geoff & Thea's wedding at Burning Kiln Winery. This year I was very thrilled to get the call to come photograph the newest member of the family - baby Jonah. These are a few highlights from our time together on a warm summer morning :)
I stopped by Jess & Terry's place in Kitchener to meet them for photos with their son Avery, who is about to celebrate his first birthday. I photographed J&T's wedding a few years back at Steckle Farm (it was the first wedding I shot there!). It was really neat to visit them again... As you can see, red plaid + blue plaid = red and blue plaid.
We started off with a few photos of the family and then proceed to watch Avery smash a cake. It was awesome. A few weeks back I went for a winter walk with Steph & Higy - they're expecting their first child to arrive any time now! The upcoming arrival they lovingly refer to as 'the Higlet'. So we all went for a walk... It was a great winter day, snowy but not too cold. They started throwing snow right away...
On a beautiful fall evening, I met Robin & Jaron and their son Forrest just outside town for photos. There was a spectacular sunset. It was warm. Here are a few of the photos from the session :)
Nicole and Dustin are getting married next summer at Steckle Heritage Farm (a very good place!). When it came time for some engagement photos they knew they wanted their kids along, so we went for an autumn walk just before sunset. I love how the pics turned out.
On a warm day in early fall I stopped by the Hill family's home in Waterloo. I've had the chance to photograph the family each of the last few years and it's been really neat to see the kids grow and change. Josh & Andrea are wonderful people and you can see it when you spend time with them and with their kids, Amelia and Jack. The photos were taken in the yard at their home. We played in and around the garden and then had popsicles :)
On one of the hottest days this summer, I went for a walk with Alex and Beth and their daughter Eleanor. We went out early enough in the morning that the heat hadn't yet really descended, but as we walked you could feel the sun burning off the last remaining cool of the morning. We played a rousing game of 'what time is it, mr wolf?' and then did some exploring in the forest.
Dave & Jenn have two beautiful daughters, Maddison and baby Berkeley. I was happy to join them for photos. Maddie was a tad shy to start, but was soon absorbed in a favourite story... We went for a walk along some trails near Jenn & Dave's home...
Caroline and Josh are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first baby. It should be any day now :)
Here are a few highlights from their maternity session... It's been nearly four years that I've been taking photos for the Watson Family. The very first time we did photos, Zoe was a newborn and Brad & Kristen had yet to move into their home in Central Frederick neighbourhood - a home and an area that have become near and dear over the years. It's been a stunning pleasure to see the family grow and grow up - Zoe, Hux and Eve are all adorable and amazing in their own way. Here are a few favourites from this time around :) see more family photos?
It was a wonderfully sunny day in October... ... and I tagged along with Josh & Andrea + family for a walk along the river. The kids threw rocks in the water, explored a stream bed and climbed some old stairs. Andrea's parents joined us for the adventure.
Eline & Mike + Owen and Charlie I went for a walk in Victoria Park with Mike & Eline and their two boys. We spent most of our time around the island, on a day that was wonderfully sunny and just a bit cool. I was told Owen wasn't too fond of the camera, but he did great... check out that smile :) Owen's younger brother Charlie... want to see the family gallery?
Family Photographer in Cambridge Dan & Jaime asked me to come over to take a family photo for a holiday card and then to see if we could nab a few candids. Their daughter, Kensie, is a year-and-a-half and is absolutely adorable. The dog did her best to wiggle into as many photos as possible... these are a few favourites from my visit to the Yanke home. see more family photos?
A few weeks back I met up with Sarah & Byron and their two sons, Dylan and Blake, for some photos at their home in Etobicoke. The session was a gift from Sarah's sister and brother-in-law, Ali and Ty. I had done Ali & Ty's wedding photos two summers past (and had met Byron and Sarah and Dylan that day. Blake, the youngest, wasn't yet on the scene). These are some highlights from the session. This first one is one of my favourite photos this year. I love how the trees frame the tire and how the tire frames Dylan. I love the sunburst. And I generally just really like the feel of the photo... the summer, the joy, that sort of thing :) This is Blake, Dylan's younger brother. He's a champ. see the family gallery?
