I got to spend a lot of time involved in the creative design part of this shoot, which was a ton of fun. Here's my favourite shot from the day... I spent the day with Tony from X-TEA co. taking glamour shots of the 30+ varieties of loose leaf teas they carry. X-TEA is a great new business in downtown Kitchener that carries some of the best tea and teaware you can get your hands on. As I got into photographing the teas, the variety between the teas sort of surprised me... I wasn't expecting so much colour and texture. Many of the teas were very beautiful up close. The sets for the shoot were all pieced together by Tony and I using bits from some old Christmas basket arrangements and a number of artifacts and antiques supplied by two other X-TEA founders, Dave and Zenia. We had a blast trying to match the personality of the tea to the set. Here are a few of my favourite shots. This was a fantastic shoot... I had a great deal of fun and X-TEA wound up with some really cool photographs of their teas and teaware. You can find a link to them through my Facebook Page if you're interested. As a footnote, I'll add that all of these photos were shot with available light and that none of them have had any work done on them - every single one is straight out of the camera. No crops, colour corrects, brightens, darkens or sharpens. Long live the camera! |
